Welcome to the Supplier Diversity Program
- Purchasing and Contracts Department

The Supplier Diversity Program at the University of Nevada Las Vegas adheres to the federal definitions for classifying minority and women owned businesses (see Definitions). It is important to note, however, that Nevada State Law does not allow, and the University of Nevada Las Vegas does not have, set asides or quotas and does not mandate a business preference for small, minority, veteran, disabled, or women owned businesses. However, UNLV has created the Supplier Diversity Program to ensure that all suppliers have the opportunity to do business with the University. Any assistance UNLV provides is intended to help diverse business enterprises become acquainted with UNLV purchasing requirements and practices. Our objective is to foster and develop business relationships between the University and all supplier segments which will create positive economic benefits for the community.

The UNLV Supplier Diversity Program will provide:

  • An avenue to engage in external activities aimed at identifying diverse suppliers.

  • A liaison between small, women, veteran, and minority owned businesses and the UNLV Purchasing office.

  • Guidance with filling out required forms and documents.

  • Continued outreach to organizations that service small, minority, veteran, and women owned businesses.

  • Advocacy for a more diverse vendor base to be utilized in the procurement process at UNLV.

  • Education to campus departments on the status and benefits of UNLV’s Supplier Diversity Program.
